Tendonitis

A tendon is connective tissue that attaches a muscle to a bone. You may have noticed any of the following: pain that is worse with movement, a grating or crackling sensation as it moves, swelling, redness, feels warm to touch, weakness, a lump. Frequently affected areas include the elbow (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow), the back of the heel (achilles tendon). Many other tendons in the body can develop tendonitis. A similar condition affecting the ligament that supports the arch of the foot and produces very sharp pain in the bottom of the heel is Plantar Fasciitis.
